This is the movie I’ve been waiting for most of my life. The book is titled A Princess of Mars and is one of the great action/adventure/love stories of all time. Written by Edgar Rice Burroughs and enduring as well as any story in the last 100 years if they follow the book, and looking at the trailer it appears so, John Carter of Mars should be a real treat. In theaters March 9th. Enjoy!

If my memory serves me right, my Dad has this book with the cover painted by Frank Frazetta. I always loved that cover. The effects in the trailer look fantastic, I love the visuals. I’m not a fan of the orchestrated Led Zeppelin music and I’m sure that’s just for the trailer and not really in the final soundtrack. Otherwise, very cool looking movie. Wasn’t Robert Rodriguez at first attached to this?
All true, Rodriguez was slated to direct but may have been too harsh and adult for the mouse house. I was hoping for a JJ Abrams or Joss Whedon type, but Andrew Stanton has some great movies in the can (if you count animation) I first read the book when I was 8 and have loved the series since… All it has to do is follow the story and John Carter of Mars could be the start of a franchise!
