Awesome! These movies are what I live for. I love all your choices.
I know it’s a TV movie but hands down, SALEM’S LOT is my favorite. I saw it when I was 10 years old and I was so frightened by it I couldn’t sleep for days.
I love FROM DUSK TIL DAWN, 30 DAYS OF NIGHT, FRIGHT NIGHT, and the original DRACULA with Bela Lugosi. Like Craig said, I love Bela in anything, even the lower grade movies.
I loved LET ME IN…normally I scoff at remakes of foreign movies but I really loved this one, even better than Let the Right One In.
Here’s some other vampire movies I enjoy:
STAKELAND (2010) Think “The Road” with vampires. Very dark and bleak. The vampires are like wild animals…very scary.
NOSFERATU (1979) The version with Klaus Kinski directed by Werner Herzog. I love this…very creepy. I do love the 1922 version too.
FROSTBITTEN (2006 – Sweden) It’s like 30 Days of Night. This town in Sweden is in darkness for many days and vampires attack. This is a nice blend of comedy and horror.
THIRST (2009 – S.Korea) Directed by the guy who made Old Boy, this is a very strange vampire movie. By the second half of the movie, it goes to some interesting places.
THE NIGHT FLIER (1997) Another King adaptation starring Miguel Ferrer. It’s been a while since I’ve seen it, I just remember being very disturbed by the ending.
Thanks for a great show. Later!
