I’d like to whine a little too.
1. I hate friggin commercials at the movies. I love the trailers but when I have to watch a cell-phone commercial or a soft drink advertisement I get irritated. Especially when they look like shit and the sound is terrible, like they just took a t.v. commercial and blew it up to fit the big screen.
2. People who come late to the movies. To me, every minute of a movie is crucial.
3. I think Doug said it, don’t change a formula. My example is the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre from Michael Bay. If your remake is going to be bigger and badder, why leave out one of the most intense scenes from the original (the dinner scene) and replace it with a stupid sub plot of Jessica Biehl rescuing a baby? Crap!! Fans of the original wanted to see a recreation of the terrifying dinner scene and they screwed it up.
4. Trailers that show scenes that aren’t even in the movie.
5. Trailers that are obviously shaped to sell a movie. Example is Hugo…the trailer makes you think it’s some “magical” adventure with a robot kid. Not at all. Now I still loved Hugo, I thought it was an amazing movie, but I can imagine the flocks of people who expected a Harry Potter style whimsical adventure movie.
That’s it for now, later guys.
